Marmon Industrial Energy & Infrastructure (MIEI) -East Granby, CT. Is one of six specialty wire, cable, and tubing solution manufacturing companies located throughout North America. We have over 100 years of innovative engineered solutions for critical, industrial, and commercial applications.The Project Engineer will provide functional support to the technical maintenance department to implement, repair and maintain systems and keep our manufacturing systems running at a high level.
Essential Duties:
Detect and assess problems: resolve; debug; troubleshoot; to provide solutions for/to automated systems and robotic applications, breakdowns, and reliability issues
Work independently with little to no direction to determine and implement corrective actions on equipment and processes
Ensure proper safety procedures are always in use and utilized / followed
Perform equipment start- ups and shutdowns, modifications, and upgrades on all production lines
Respond in a timely manner to all issues to ensure productivity and efficiency.
Provide technical support to improve equipment operations and performance
Maintain all production equipment in good, clean, and functioning condition
Understand and analyze interactions between all components and systems: mechanical, servo, robotic, electrical
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
Understand the operation and programming of programmable controllers (PLC) Rockwell/AB, servo, machine vision and ink marking systems
Assist in implementation of new equipment
Read and understand electrical wiring block and schematics, machine drawings, equipment layout drawings and other associated drawings and resources
Initiate and/or assist in design, frequent engineering design reviews and factory acceptance testing with new/updated systems
Work cooperatively with the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance teams
Other projects as assigned by manager

Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
Basic robotic knowledge and understanding of functions and programming EPSON, FANUC, UR or similar
Experience with 3-D modeling systems;
Familiarity with networking, PC and server
Ability to communicate with Manufacturing management, Engineers, Technicians, and Production Associates
Demonstrated technical aptitude and a strong desire for continuous improvement
Ability and willingness to lead and train
Strong attention to detail
