Job Summary:

U.S. Electrical Services Inc. is searching for a Central Distribution Operations Shift Lead to oversee the second shift team in our Middletown, CT distribution center. The position will report to the Shift supervisor and be responsible for the following:

• Protect Company assets from theft and damage.
• Leads team members in a manner that maintains a safe, injury-free work environment.
• Train, assesses, and continuously develops new and existing team members.
• Support Central Distribution Center's team to maximize customer service and accuracy while seeking improvements on operational performance.
• Provides instructions about standard operating procedures, material handling equipment, and helps in resolving problems.
• Assists team members with exceptions and problem resolution to ensure a high level of accuracy for the assigned shift.
• Coordinates daily distribution activities of CDC Operations to meet service and cost objectives within assigned operational shift, including receiving, put away, picking, packing, wire, shipping, and inventory control.
• Coordinates with CDC Operations Shift Supervisor to ensure staffing levels and adequate to meet shift objectives.
• Organizes and directs workflow for the department when supervisor is unavailable.
• Continuously seeks and takes action to drive improvements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Experience with UPS Starship and Ship Station software preferred.
• Experienced with computers and barcode scanning in warehouse environment.
• Experienced with warehouse equipment, including order pickers, for trucks, and high-lo reach trucks.
• Strong product knowledge and work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to solve problems.
• Must have strong sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure.
• Must be able to multi-task and perform in a fast paced, competitive environment.
