Job Opportunity: Buyer/Planner

Summary/Objective: Our client is seeking a dynamic Buyer/Planner (open to a Sr. Buyer/Planner) to join their team. This role is pivotal in managing the procurement process for production materials, parts, services, and more. The ideal candidate will excel in negotiating favorable terms with suppliers while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. Essential Functions:

  1. Create and maintain purchase orders and requisitions via our ERP system, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  2. Cultivate strong supplier relationships through effective communication, negotiations, and regular visits.
  3. Solicit and analyze quotations, updating vendor contracts as necessary.
  4. Coordinate daily work orders for our Equipment and Spare Parts Manufacturing Department.
  5. Facilitate monthly planning meetings to schedule equipment jobs, adapting plans as needed.
  6. Address production shortages promptly, collaborating with other buyers and manufacturing teams.
  7. Expedite orders to maintain a seamless flow of materials and services.
  8. Manage quality matters and engineering changes with suppliers.
  9. Proactively report product and material availability issues.
  10. Maintain and monitor Master Data to optimize future planning within our ERP system.
  11. Liaise with the Receiving Department to ensure accurate material receipt and handle vendor returns or reworks.
  12. Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely vendor payments.
  13. Drive process improvements and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
  14. Contribute to cost reduction initiatives across materials, production, and logistics.
  15. Provide accurate and timely support to the Director of Finance as required.
  16. Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  17. Adhere to all regulations, policies, and procedures.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher, with at least three years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP's
  • Ability to comprehend complex documents and information related to purchasing and logistics.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
