Position Summary:

The ServiceNow Architectis a technical and thought leader responsible for the overall ServiceNow architecture and deployment strategy as it relates to designing, building, configurating and deploying business capability through ServiceNow solutions. The position involves mentoring a small team of ServiceNow Administrators and Developers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assures ServiceNow platform alignment to the business and IS strategies, by creating and maintaining a ServiceNow strategy. This includes creating and maintaining detailed views of the ServiceNow architecture.
  • Responsible for the design, development, maintenance, administration, and continuous improvement of solutions in ServiceNow. This includes aligning the ServiceNow platform capabilities with the business strategy and maintaining a ServiceNow roadmap.
  • Responsible for stability, performance, adherence to standards and best practices, security, and user experience for the ServiceNow platform.
  • Effectively articulates recommended strategies and solutions to project teams, management, and executive leadership.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather and understands complex business requirements and translates them into effective automated workflows.
  • Acts as a technical leader and mentor to Information Services, including the IS ServiceNow team.
  • Provides subject expertise on the ServiceNow platform, serving as a product advocate.
  • Responsible for supporting and overseeing ServiceNow implementations, maintaining ServiceNow products, processes and applications on the ServiceNow Platform, following ServiceNow and industry best practices and standards.
  • Contributes to and oversees the ServiceNow governance processes.
  • Documents business requirements to technical stories for development team.
  • Remains cognitive of cost and factors in total cost of ownership when making recommendations to management.
  • Keeps current on new and emerging technologies for ServiceNow through continual educational, research, professional affiliations, and personal networking.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer.
  • ITIL Foundations Certification.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree or graduate certificate.
  • ITIL Expert or Intermediate certifications.
  • ServiceNow Certified Master Architect (CMA) Certificate.
  • Other Platform Application Development ServiceNow certifications, for example CAS - Performance Analytics.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and supporting ServiceNow enterprise implementations in large complex environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow development including process automation (orchestration), client scripts, UI actions, scheduled jobs, business rules, data imports, custom apps, and web services integration (SOAP, REST).
  • 5+ years of experience with Web development, including X-HTML, CSS3, SQL, XML, jQuery or Angular and one or more of the following back-end technologies: JavaScript, PHP, .NET, or Java integrations in ServiceNow.
  • Experienced in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes including client requirement analysis and system design.
  • Expert level understanding of ServiceNow Applications, and Modules.
  • Enterprise and/or IT Service Management.
  • Strong consultative background in enterprise environments, working closely with leadership on high visibility program-based initiatives.
  • Ability to formulate and articulate technical vision.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale applications and systems.
  • Proficient in all phases of the Application Development Lifecycle.
  • Strong technical project management and leadership skills.
  • Enterprise Security and Architecture.
  • ServiceNow Advanced System Administration.
  • ServiceNow Application Development.
  • Experience with database design schemas and data modeling.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with ability to function at both the conceptual as well as detail levels.
  • Strong requirements gathering experience.
  • Scripting, JavaScript, Web Services, HTML, CSS.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
