Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD), a Koch company, is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team headquarters in Katy, TX. This role will lead, manage, and actively participate in all facets of an EPC project - from the early development phase to commissioning and turnover. We are looking for a project-oriented leader who has demonstrated design and problem-solving experience, resulting in the best outcomes and repeat business The Project Engineer role will emphasize detailed design and the ability to lead in the execution of projects.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical design and engineering oversight of project scope for assigned projects through project completion
  • Review of process equipment, vendor selection, and subcontractor services
  • Develop design documents, including piping and instrumentation diagrams and equipment specification sheets
  • Liaise and coordinate between engineering disciplines, field construction teams, and subcontractor personnel to ensure sound engineering design
  • Active participation and leading of customer reviews


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Experience with design calculations and/or working with design drawings
  • Engineering design for production or field engineering experience


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with full-scope project responsibilities from the FEED phase to mechanical completion
  • EPC design, field engineering, or engineering experience on a plant operations or maintenance team
  • Knowledge of pipe design codes such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and B31.12
  • Experience reviewing static and rotating equipment * Working knowledge of material specifications
  • Experience leading in teams of engineers or construction execution discussions
  • Direct experience in completing full-scope engineering, procurement, and construction projects (EPC) on a lump sum, turnkey basis
  • Field, job-site, or shop construction experience either in supervisor or engineering support
