Join Our Mission

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for coordinating agency-wide quality improvement projects and working with agency leadership on program evaluation efforts for continuous improvement including collection, management and analysis of data and preparing and distributing reports. The Auditor will report directly to the Director of Quality & Audit.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess areas of significant business risk within the organization.
  • Develop audit plans and programs, often based on risk assessments, to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Conduct audits in accordance with established standards and timelines. This includes testing and evaluating financial, operational, and compliance controls and systems.
  • Prepare and present reports that reflect the audit results. These reports typically include findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Monitor the implementation of agreed-upon recommendations and remedial actions following audit findings.
  • Ensure that the organization is complying with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Provide advice and guidance on control and risk management matters to management and staff.
  • Continuously improve the internal audit function by updating audit methods, staying informed on regulations and best practices, and utilizing new audit techniques and tools.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
  • Synthesize data to identify target areas for improved outcomes; utilize appropriate statistical methodology to evaluate program effectiveness, identify trends, and help determine the best course of action for continuous improvement activities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate addressment of findings in meetings with agency leaders; monitor progress on improvement plans and provide feedback to key stakeholders.
  • Assist in monitoring agency and COA best practice standards and requirements.
  • Identify appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and validate; parameters may include general function, validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures; follow and support agency mission, vision and values including participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in business, education, human services or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality improvement/assurance field.
  • Experience in statistical analysis and quality improvement related field strongly preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of agency.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a fast paced and energetic culture. Highly effective in dealing with ambiguity. Must be able to adapt, be sensitive to Agency needs, goodwill and public image.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with extreme discretion.
  • Experience in human services, non-profit agency and/or work experience with Office of Family and Children Services preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license. Periodic travel required for position.
  • Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.

      Salary Range

      • $60,000 - $65,000 based on education & experience.
