TheEarly Intervention (EI)team provides strength-based, family-centered services for young children under three years of age who have developmental delays or are at risk of a developmental delay. Services are designed to meet the needs of each infant or toddler, and the needs of their family. The EI team provides services in the home/community setting with the goal of enhancing the child's physical, cognitive, communication, social-emotional and adaptive skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct intervention services to children birth to 3 and their families in natural settings.

  • Conduct evaluations and assessments.

  • Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans.

  • Coordinate services and act as a resource for children and families.

  • Assist in transition planning prior to discharge from the program. Referrals to outside agencies as needed.

  • Maintain client and administrative records according to DPH and CHL-Lipton Early Intervention Policies and Standards.

  • Adhere to all off CHL's protocols, policies, and procedures,

  • Early Intervention services are provided both in-person and/or by Telehealth.

  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the overall success of the team.

  • Maintain productivity standards according to the collective bargaining agreement if applicable.

  • Flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, written and communication skills.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of family dynamics and coping mechanics and recognizes and treats dysfunctional family processes as it relates to the growth and development of the young child.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of typical infant/toddler development in five global domains: personal-social, adaptive, motor, communication and cognition.

  • Ability to support positive child and family development.

  • Develop appropriate functional intervention techniques for infants and toddlers with atypical development.

  • Respect diverse views and approaches, demonstrate Standards of Respect, and contribute to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Grade C12-Clinician III: Masters degree from an accredited recognized educational institution in counseling psychology; clinical psychology; developmental psychology; educational psychology.

  • Grade C16-Clinician IV: Masters degree in a clinical course of study , current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health counselor (LMHC) or as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Experience in the area of practice is desirable.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children and families.
