The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School and the UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center is seeking a second, full-timeChild Abuse Pediatricianto join our Child Protection Program. The service includes an experienced team of dedicated providers, including: a Child Abuse Pediatrician, nurse practitioners, social workers, and an administrative assistant.We provide medicalcare for the regional CAC, have an active inpatient consultation service and outpatient clinic, support community medical providers, educate medical students and residents, and work closely with community multidisciplinary professionals. The position includes opportunities for teaching, research and collaboration with community partners which can be shaped around candidate interest and career path. Call responsibilities and clinical conferences are shared with a collaborative network of child abuse pediatricians in central and eastern MA.

The UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center (CMC) is in Worcester, MA and serves a diverse community population.The CMC is embedded within a large, tertiary care academic center and is central Massachusetts' primary provider of general and specialty pediatric services.The CMC houses the region's only Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center, a designated Pediatric Emergency Department, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, pediatric inpatient service and sedation service, Level III NICU, and over 20 pediatric specialty services with a focus on high quality care, education, and academic excellence.Over the past year, the CMC admitted over 4,000 children to the inpatient and critical care units, cared for more than 30,000 children in the Pediatric Emergency Department, and recorded more than 50,000 patient visits in the outpatient clinics.

Worcester and the surrounding region have a strong and diverse economic base with family oriented communities offering excellent school systems.As the second largest city in New England, Worcester offers an array of experiences for diverse interests.The city is growing rapidly with a great food scene, world-class theater and museums, a minor league baseball team, and also offers an array of nearby outdoor activities.It is under an hour from Boston, Providence, and Hartford, and is home to 8 colleges and universities.

Candidates should be Board Certified in Pediatrics and Board Certified or Board-Eligible in CAP, possess strong clinical expertise and outstanding teaching skills and have a commitment to collaborative practice and child advocacy.
