UMass Memorial Health is seeking aGeneral and Regional AcademicAnesthesiologistfor the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine.

With more than 1,100 physicians, the UMass Memorial Medical Group is one of the largest, integrated multispecialty group medical practices on the entire East Coast. Our physicians provide primary care and specialty services for both routine and complex health needs, and they practice at locations in Worcester and throughout Central Massachusetts.

UMass Memorial Health is the largest healthcare system in Central Massachusetts. We are the clinical partner of UMass Medical School, with access to the latest technology,researchand clinical trials. Our health care system includes four hospitals:

  • UMass Memorial Medical Center (Worcester)
  • HealthAlliance Hospital (Leominster and Fitchburg)
  • Marlborough Hospital (Marlborough)

In addition to our fully equipped medical centers, our system also includes home health and hospice programs, behavioral health programs and community-based physician practices.

Position Description:
Excellent patient care is the common goal that anchors our mission. From a practice that is spread over six locations, outpatient to tertiary care at the Medical Center, our team of over 69Anesthesiologists,70Nurse Anesthetists and 32Residents provide patient care with our anesthesia care team model at more than 60 anesthesiology sites each morning. We have 40 operating rooms and over 12 Non-OR anesthetizing sites on 6 different campuses. In addition, we have an ACGME accredited residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in critical care medicine. We have over 10 subspecialty teams. With a belief in taking care of our patients over the entire continuum of care we are piloting a Perioperative Surgical Home (PSH) with the Department of Urology.In addition, our Maternity Center at the Medical Center Campus cares for high-risk obstetric patients with a volume of over 4,000 deliveries a year.
