Position Overview

Perform analysis to determine how data is best applied to the benefit of the business. Analysis will enable the business to make data driven decisions to achieve key business objectives.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Provide data as needed for internal and external audit purposes and for regulatory compliance.
  • Fulfill ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Monitor key metrics and report as needed.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources.
  • Collaborate with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to staff and management.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity for all reports, analysis and conclusions through a formal validation process prior to distribution.
  • Format data for appropriate presentation (charts, graphs, tables, etc.) in both print and electronic form.
  • Work to automate recurring reports for circulation to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Continually review and evaluate all current reporting tools and recommend changes or upgrades as needed.
  • Understand current state processes and recommend improvements to define new workflow and process improvement opportunities.
  • Work with available data sources to complete analysis, interpret trends or patterns and create conclusions to be used for strategic purposes.
  • Develop and implement databases, data analytics and other strategies that provide insight into key data points.
  • Analyze peer and industry data to provide ongoing reports.
  • Display strong communication and interpersonal abilities across all levels coupled with effective problem solving, conceptual thinking and quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in either Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or five or more years of technology related on-the-job experience required.
  • 3-5 years as a Reporting Analyst or similar is required.
  • Experience in banking or the financial industry is preferred.
  • 1-2 years as a Data Analyst, Data Modeler (Machine Learning) or similar is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with data warehousing technologies and techniques, Microsoft PowerBI, MS SQL Server, Tableau, Cognos BI Platform and report writers such as Crystal Reports.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with an advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
